LASER TREATMENTS

Depending on your skin and goals treatment options may include one or a combination of the following:

Laser hair removal reduces unwanted hair by targeting the pigment in the hair follicle to slow and disrupt future growth. It is commonly used on areas like the face, underarms, legs, bikini line, and back. Treatments help reduce ingrown hairs, razor irritation, and shadowing from frequent shaving. Results are best achieved with a series of sessions spaced over time, since hair grows in cycles. Skin is left smoother with less ongoing maintenance.

ClearLift is a non invasive laser treatment designed to stimulate collagen without damaging the surface of the skin. It is used to improve fine lines, skin laxity, enlarged pores, and overall skin quality. Because the treatment works beneath the skin, there is little to no downtime. It is often chosen for delicate areas like around the eyes, mouth, and neck. Results build gradually as collagen production increases.

Dye-VL and IPL treatments target redness, discoloration, and uneven pigmentation caused by sun damage and visible blood vessels. They are commonly used for rosacea, broken capillaries, brown spots, and overall tone irregularities. Light energy is absorbed by pigment and vascular concerns to help fade discoloration over a series of treatments. Skin gradually looks clearer and more even in tone. These treatments are often paired with skincare for maintenance.

VascuPen is a targeted laser treatment used to treat visible blood vessels on the face and body. It is commonly used for broken capillaries, spider veins, and small vascular lesions that cause redness or uneven skin tone. The laser energy is absorbed by the vessel, causing it to collapse and gradually fade. Treatments are precise and focused, making it ideal for smaller, stubborn vessels. Skin appears clearer with reduced visible redness.

Hybrid CO2 resurfacing improves skin texture, tone, and firmness by stimulating collagen renewal at deeper levels of the skin. It is used to treat fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, sun damage, and uneven skin texture. This treatment combines ablative and non ablative energy to balance visible results with controlled downtime. Over time, skin appears smoother, tighter, and more refined. It is often chosen for patients looking for more dramatic skin renewal.

Pixel Peel is a light CO2 resurfacing treatment designed to refresh skin texture and tone with minimal downtime. It helps improve fine lines, mild acne scarring, sun damage, and uneven skin texture. This treatment stimulates collagen while preserving surrounding tissue, making it gentler than full CO2 resurfacing. Pixel Peel can be done as a standalone treatment or combined with other procedures for enhanced results. Skin looks smoother and more refined as healing progresses.

Laser tattoo removal uses targeted light energy to break down unwanted ink without damaging the surrounding skin. The laser fragments the pigment into smaller particles, which are gradually cleared by the body over a series of treatments. It is used to fade or fully remove black and colored tattoos, as well as to lighten existing ink for a cover up. Treatments are spaced several weeks apart to allow proper healing and ink clearance. Over time, the tattoo becomes progressively lighter and less visible, with treatment plans customized based on ink color, depth, and skin type.

Laser-specific preparation guidelines are as follows:

Alma Hybrid (CO₂ Ablative & Non-Ablative)

    • Expect 5–7 days of recovery. This may include a sunburned appearance for 1–2 days, swelling for 2–3 days, and a rough or sandpaper-like texture for up to a week. Deeper treatments will have more noticeable redness and texture changes during healing.

    Pixel Peel (Light CO₂)

    • 3-4 days of recovery

    Non-Ablative Laser (1570nm)

    • Mild redness for 1-2 days.

    Dye-VL / IPL

    • Downtime varies. Some patients have no downtime, while others may experience mild swelling for up to 24 hours and darkening of sun spots that can last a few days

    ClearLift

    • No Downtime

    VascuPen

    • No downtime, though bruising may occur in treated vein areas and can last up to 2 weeks.

  • The number of treatments depends on the concern being treated, the laser used, and how your skin responds. Some concerns improve with a single treatment, while others benefit from a series. This is discussed during your consultation so we can create a plan that makes sense for your goals.

  • Post-treatment care depends on the laser and your treatment depth. We’ll review your exact aftercare during your consultation and again on treatment day.

Alma Hybrid (CO₂ Ablative / Deeper Resurfacing):

You’ll go home with a post-procedure kit and a step-by-step healing regimen. Expect stricter care during the first week, including barrier support and protecting the treated skin while it heals.

    Pixel Peel (Light CO₂):

We’ll recommend specific post-care products to calm the skin and support healing. You may have dryness or rough texture as the skin refreshes.

    Non-Ablative (1570nm):

Aftercare is usually simple. We’ll recommend gentle, hydrating products and strict sun protection while collagen remodeling occurs.

    Dye-VL / IPL:

Focus is on calming the skin and sun avoidance. Pigmented spots may darken before they flake off, so we’ll guide you on what to use and what to avoid.

    ClearLift:

Minimal aftercare is needed, but we still recommend gentle skincare and SPF.

    VascuPen:

We’ll review care based on the area treated. Some patients may bruise, and sun protection is important while the skin settles.

Across all lasers, we typically recommend gentle cleansing, hydration, daily SPF, Avoiding sun exposure for 3-4 weeks after treatments is highly recommended, and we’ll tell you exactly when to restart active skincare based on your treatment.

  • Sun exposure, heat, and active skincare are commonly avoided for a period of time after treatment. Exact restrictions depend on the laser used and will be reviewed with you so you feel confident during healing.

  • Yes. Laser treatments are often combined with facials, injectables, microneedling, or skincare for more comprehensive results. Timing matters, which is why we plan treatments intentionally rather than stacking them too closely together.

  • Safety depends on both your skin type and the laser being used. Some laser technologies can be safely used on a wide range of skin tones, while others require more caution.

Our Alma Harmony laser treatments, including Dye-VL / IPL, ClearLift, and VascuPen, can be safely used on many complexions, including darker skin tones, when appropriate settings are used.

Hybrid & CO₂ laser resurfacing is more limited and is not recommended for darker skin types due to an increased risk of pigment changes. This is why a consultation is required, so we can evaluate your skin and select the safest and most effective treatment for you.

  • Laser treatments may not be appropriate for:

    • Patients who cannot avoid sun exposure for 4–6 weeks before and after treatment

    • Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding

    • Patients with active autoimmune conditions

    • Patients currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiation

    • Patients taking photosensitizing medications

Certain skin types or conditions may not be suitable for specific lasers. This is why a consultation is required before scheduling any laser treatment, so we can ensure safety and appropriate treatment selection.
