The most common areas for filler at Pura Vida Wellness are the lips, cheek, and chin. Other areas for filler are the tear troughs, lower face, smile lines, neck, and temples.
Prior to your appointment, we ask that you avoid any blood thinning medications and/or supplements for 3-5 days prior. Examples include aspirin, Advil (ibuprofen), Aleve (naproxen), fish oil, garlic, green tea, turmeric, ginger, & ginkgo. Avoiding alcoholic beverages for 24 hours prior may help decrease bruising. Taking arnica tablets for 3 days prior to your appointment may also be beneficial to help reduce bruising and swelling.
Dermal fillers will provide immediate volume to the area of treatment. You can expect your results to last between 6-24 months, depending on the product used, your lifestyle, and the area treated.
Results can last anywhere from 6-24 months depending on metabolism, dermal filler used, and area of injection.
For the first 24-48 hours after treatment, you should avoid putting on makeup and vigorous exercise. You should not rub or manipulate the area treated. You should also use gentle skincare products until you have healed.
While every patient is different, 2 weeks of downtime is expected. Swelling may last up to 3 days, and bruising could last up to 2 weeks. Filler treatment should be done 2-4 weeks prior to any major event you have coming up.
